Home Sleep Study (HST)

During a home sleep study, your respiratory effort, pulse, oxygen saturation, nasal flow and snoring are monitored to assess if you suffer from sleep-disordered breathing or sleep apnea.

The night of the sleep test, you will place the sensors on designated parts of the body to start the recording. ResMed's ApneaLink Air home sleep testing device detects apneas, hypopneas, flow limitation, snoring and blood oxygen saturation. It also calculates the probability of Cheyne-Stokes respiration (CSR) breathing patterns within the recording, allowing for an accurate differentiation between Obstructive and Central apneas.

Once you return the HST to our office, we will download the report for the physician to review.

Most insurances require a minimum of 4 hours of data on the HST in order to approve a second night study, if needed.

CPAP & AutoSet™ Machines

ResMed's CPAP machines are fixed-pressure therapy devices for patients with sleep-disordered breathing.  Their AutoSet™ machine is an auto-adjusting pressure therapy device.

Most insurances allow a new machine once every 5 years.

BIPAP Machine

The ResMed auto-adjusting bilevel devices use the comfort of both the AutoSet™ algorithm and Easy-Breathe waveform to treat sleep apnea patients who require greater respiratory comfort.

ResMed's bilevel devices are ideal if patients need positive airway pressure therapy but aren’t suitable candidates for CPAP therapy.

Most insurances allow a new machine once every 5 years.
